How to install the rear speed sensor for the brake control system on 2009 Toyota Highlander?

After cleaning the contact surfaces of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with the new sensor you can install it into position. Assemble the new sensor onto the axle hub with its connector in the right position and use Special Service Tools 09214-76011 and 09213-58013 as well as a press and steel plates to press the sensor into the axle while keeping it away from magnets and ensuring it enters straight without debris in the detection area. Put the rear axle hub bearing and sensor set together along with the rear speed sensor. Check the rear axle hub bearing from wobbling and measure the rear axle hub runout. Attach the rear disc to position and fit the brake caliper after that. Connect the rear speed sensor wire to its electrical connection. Reinstall the rear wheel at 103 Nm torque before plugging back the negative battery cable. Some systems need initialization following cable connection. To complete the process we need to examine the rear wheel alignment and test the speed sensor signal.
