Starting the alternator replacement procedure requires disconnection of the battery. The V-bank cover must be removed first and then the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly. The V-belt from the generator and fan must be detached next. You must begin with the generator assembly wire harness disconnect by first removing the bolt alongside wire harness stay and secondly disconnecting generator assembly connector then unscrewing terminal cap with nut before disconnecting wire harness from terminal B. To detach the wire harness clamp bracket from the generator assembly you must first disconnect two bolts then lastly separate the generator assembly with its two bolts.
