2009 Toyota Corolla Fuel Door Release Cable Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Fuel Door Release Cable Assembly on 2009 Toyota Corolla?
A: The initial step for removing the Fuel Lid Lock Control Cable Assembly starts by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery while waiting at least 90 seconds to prevent SRS activation. When operating manual seats you need to take away the front seat headrest assembly together with the outer seat track cover and inner seat track cover and front seat assembly. When working on power seats first repeat the removal process of the front-seat headrest assembly as well as the outer seat track cover and the inner seat track cover and the front seat assembly. The next procedure requires removal of the front door scuff plate LH, cowl side trim board LH, front door opening trim Weather Strip LH and rear door scuff plate LH and rear door opening trim Weather Strip LH. Release the front seat outer belt assembly LH by removing its lap belt outer anchor cover and disconnecting it. The next step involves taking out the lower center pillar garnish LH along with the spare wheel cover and rear seat headrest assembly LH, and the three additional components that include rear seat cushion assembly, rear seatback assembly LH, and rear seat side garnish LH. Add the roof side inner garnish board LH, rear floor finish plate, and inner luggage compartment trim cover LH that require removing the 4 clips. The luggage door functionality needs to be disconnected by first removing the bolt from the open lever assembly before separating the lock control cable assembly which operates the luggage door open lever assembly. Follow the last step by disconnecting the fuel lid lock control cable sub-assembly which includes separate 2 claw and 7 clamp removal.
