2009 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the thermostat on 2009 Toyota Avalon?
A: The initial step for taking out the 2GR-FE cooling system thermostat is removing engine coolant through draining. Sub-assembly of V-bank cover comes first in removal procedures followed by engine moving control rod and engine mounting control bracket. First loosen the engine mounting bracket front No.1 LH and detach both the fan along with the generator V belt. The next step requires removal of both the No.2 idler pulley sub-assembly and the separation of the radiator hose outlet. Complete the water inlet removal by extracting its two bolts then taking out the inlet and terminating with the thermostat.
