- Q: How to install the front Wheel Hub assembly on 2009 Toyota 4Runner?A: Install a new hub assembly for a 2WD vehicle by putting in the front suspension upper arm assembly that requires a new nut torqued to 110 Nm (1,122 kgf-cm, 81 ft-lbf) and secure it with a new cotter pin. Next add the No. 1 front suspension arm sub-assembly lower into place using two bolts which should be tightened to 160 Nm (1,630 kgf-cm, 118 ft-lbf). The installation process begins with nutting the tie rod end sub-assembly before torquing it to 91 Nm (928 kgf-cm, 67 ft-lbf) and securing it with a new cotter pin. Apply a nut to the steering knuckle for the front stabilizer link assembly then tighten it to 70 Nm (714 kgf-cm, 52 ft-lbf) by using a hexagon (6 mm) wrench on the stud in case the ball joint turns with the nut. The installation sequence begins with front disc assembly and front disc brake caliper assembly bolts which should be torqued to 123 Nm (1,254 kgf-cm, 91 ft-lbf). Backward from front disc installation comes the brake tube bracket attachment to steering knuckle with a bolt torqued to 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf). Finishing steps include connecting the brake tube with a union nut wrench torqued to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf). You can install the front speed sensor through bolt attachment of the speed sensor wire harness to the steering knuckle at 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) torque followed by clip connection and hexagon wrench usage for bolt installation at 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf) torque. Installation includes bleaching the brake line followed by reservoir fluid inspection along with leak checking the brake fluid before front wheel installation at 112 Nm (1,142 kgf-cm, 83 ft-lbf) torque.
