- Q: How to remove the front power seat motor assembly for the rear lifter on 2009 Toyota 4Runner?A: The procedure for front power seat motor assembly removal from the rear lifter begins by taking out the front seat assembly. First disconnect the reclining power seat switch knob together with the slide & vertical power seat switch knob. You need to begin by taking away the front seat cushion shield LH and front inner No. 1 seat cushion shield LH before proceeding with removal of the front power seat switch LH. The next procedure requires removal of the front seat inner belt assembly LH and the front seat cushion inner shield LH. Next follow the process of removing the separate type front seat cushion cover together with its pad. The front power seat motor assembly requires disconnecting 3 wire harness clamps as well as 2 additional wire harness clamps for removal. In the provided illustration there are four clamps marked by arrows that require removal before pulling out the seat cushion spring. Proceed to uninstall the seat cushion frame together with its four bolts before moving onto the subsequent steps. A T40 "TORX" socket wrench should be used to remove the 3 "TORX" bolts securing the tilt rod before extracting the rod. The adjust screw requires removal after disconnecting its connector through the use of a T40 "TORX" socket wrench which removes its "TORX" bolt. The last step involves removing 2 bolts through the use of a 4 mm socket hexagon wrench. Before taking the motor unit out of the car you must unlock the adjust screw from its uppermost or lowermost position then turn the screw to unlock it.
