The primary step for servicing the 2AZ-FE cooling system thermostat requires draining all engine coolant from the system. First disconnect the V belt from the fan and generator before taking apart the generator assembly. First disconnect the radiator hose and after that remove the water inlet by unfastening its two mounting nuts and detaching it from the cylinder block. Finally, remove the thermostat.
