2008 Toyota Sequoia Steering Wheel Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the steering wheel on 2008 Toyota Sequoia?
A: The first step to handle the steering wheel involves disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable before waiting for 90 seconds for the SRS system to become disabled. Pay attention to the fact that particular systems need an initialization step after reconnecting the cable. Cruise toward removing the steering wheel starts with removing the lower No. 3 and lower No. 2 steering wheel covers followed by the steering pad disconnection. First remove the cruise control main wire harness clamp on the steering wheel side followed by cutting the steering pad switch connector and cruise control main switch connector off the spiral cable and then unfastening the steering wheel set nut. Use the registration tool 09950-50013 and the tools 09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05011 to remove the steering wheel by marking its positions and those of the main shaft. The removal process requires unconnecting the steering pad connector followed by removing two screws and separating the four pins while taking off the steering pad switch. The absence of steering pad switches requires only one screw removal and pin detachment to separate the steering pad covers from their right and left positions. Moving on to the cruise control mains switch requires users to remove the two screws. The process concludes with the removal of the two steering wheel pad attaching screws.
