- Q: How to remove the camshaft on 2008 Toyota Sequoia?A: The first step to remove the 2UZ-FE engine's camshaft requires you to discharge fuel system pressure along with disconnecting the negative battery cable until the SRS system disables after a minimum 90-second wait time. The procedure starts with draining engine oil before removing the timing belt while disconnecting the vacuum hose assembly and unclamping the fuel pipe. The maintenance process starts by disconnecting both fuel pipe sub-assemblies No. 2 and No. 1 before removing the pressure pulsation damper assembly and the air switching valve assembly. Proceed by disconnecting both battery terminal and wire as well as the air injection control driver connectors to separate the engine wire. First remove the ignition coil assembly along with the spark plug before disconnecting the No. 5 water by-pass hose and inlet heater water hose D. Then take away the No. 1 water by-pass pipe, ventilation hose and cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH. Carry out the camshaft position sensor assembly and the camshaft timing pulley sub-assembly LH removal while avoiding bolt disassembly or removal of parts not shown in the relevant illustration.
