2008 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the intake manifold on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: Starting the intake manifold removal process requires disconnecting the negative battery cable terminal. The first step requires removal of the cowl top ventilator louver then continued with removing the front fender splash shield sub-assembly from both left and right sides. Beginning the intake manifold removal process requires first cleaning the engine coolant together with draining the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly. Detach the V-bank cover sub-assembly together with the air cleaner hose assembly by disconnecting the vacuum hose and No. 2 ventilation hose then loosening 2 hose clamps before removing the air cleaner hose. Disconnect all mentioned hoses including ventilation pipe and ventilation hose from cylinder head covers with corresponding 2 water by-pass hoses, throttle body connector, No.1 ventilation hose, purge VSV connector and purge line hose from the purge VSV. The maintenance task starts with untethering the ACIS vacuum switching valve connector while also removing the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly and the No. 3 engine cover and the disconnection of 3 wire clamps from the 3 wire brackets. Start by removing the bolt together with the wire bracket from the intake manifold before extracting the 2 nuts and 8 bolts to take off the intake manifold and 2 gaskets. You should disconnect the ventilation hose assembly by detaching its 2 bolts and hose from the intake manifold position. Start by removing the No. 1 V-bank cover bracket through the process of dismounting the 2 bolts and bracket and then dismounting the manifold cover bolt. Plan the operation by first removing the No. 2 V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly before proceeding to extract the throttle body assembly through the removal of four bolts and gasket and throttle body. Please remove both vacuum hoses then the bolt and vacuum switching valve assembly of ACIS to unload it from the vehicle. The purge operation requires removing the purging hose from the intake manifold followed by bolting out both the intake manifold and purge VSV. The last step entails unfastening two bolts and two wire harness clamp brackets from the bracket.
