    A: The first step to disassemble the power steering vane pump requires using Special Service Tools: 09630-00014 09631-00132 to secure the vane pump assembly in a vise but always maintain proper tension. First extract the bolt and power steering suction port union before taking out the O-ring from the union. First remove the pressure port union after you remove both the O-ring and the flow control valve with its compression spring. You should carefully extract the power steering oil pressure switch while protecting it from any damage events and consider replacement if required. The vane pump rear housing needs disassembly through removal of 4 bolts together with an O-ring from the front housing. Two screwdrivers and their use enable the removal of a snap ring and subsequent afterward sub-assembly with the pulley shaft. Undo the vane plates from the 10 total parts along with the rotor and vane pump cam ring. You should disconnect the side plate front from the pump housing front while removing its O-rings from both components.
