2007 Toyota Yaris Throttle Body Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the throttle body on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: Beginning the throttle body service and repair requires removing the cable from the negative battery terminal then draining the engine coolant. First disconnect the fuel vapor feed hoses No. 1 and No. 2 from the vacuum switching valve assembly. Then detach the vacuum switching valve assembly connector and wire harness clamp, ventilation hose No. 2 and wire harness clamp and mass air flow meter connector to remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with air cleaner hose No. 1. You need to loosen the hose clamp followed by unlocking the air cleaner assembly clamp before removing the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with air cleaner hose No. 1. The technician must disconnect the following restaurant: water by-pass hose and water by-pass hose No. 2. The throttle with motor body assembly removal process requires connector disconnection followed by the removal of the nut and wire harness with bracket and extraction of the 2 nuts from the water filler sub-assembly with hose and then final separation of the bolt and 3 nuts. Caretakers should take off the gasket which exists on the intake manifold. The correct installation process includes positioning a new gasket onto the intake manifold and fastening the throttle with motor body assembly through bolt and 3 nuts (9.0 Nm torque) and attaching the water filler sub-assembly using 2 nuts (7.5 Nm torque) and securing the wire harness with bracket through a nut (9.0 Nm torque). First route the throttle into its motor body assembly connector and attach both water by-pass hoses No. 2 and the water by-pass hose. Reinstall the air cleaner cap sub-assembly by attaching air cleaner hose No. 1 then tightening the hose clamp to 3.0 Nm while reestablishing the wire harness clamp and mass air flow meter connector plus ventilation hose No. 2 and the vacuum switching valve assembly connector and both fuel vapor feed hoses No. 1 and No. 2. To complete the procedure one must attach the cable to the negative battery terminal with torque at 5.4 Nm. Afterward the technician should add engine coolant while checking for any leakage followed by reinstalling cylinder head cover No. 2.
