2007 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: Service or repair procedures on the radiator require an off position ignition before approaching electric cooling fans or radiator grille. Start by unplug the battery cable from its negative contact then drain the engine coolant out. The front bumper cover of both hatchback and sedan requires removal before the air cleaner assembly necessitates separating all connectors and hoses while loosening clamps and removing bolts. First disconnect the upper part of the hatchback radiator support absorber then continue by removing the No. 1 cooler cover with hood lock assembly unless a theft deterrent system is used. Transfer to disconnect the radiator reservoir tank hose while removing radiator hoses No. 2 and No. 3 together with automatic transaxle oil cooler inlet and outlet hoses. Before removing the radiator assembly from vehicles with air conditioning system customers need to disconnect both cooling fan motor connector and wire harness clamps. Without air conditioning installation you can directly remove the radiator assembly. Reverse the removal steps to install the components by placing the radiator drain cock then the reservoir tank hose grommets and finally the support cushions properly. First connect all oil cooler hoses and then proceed with attaching radiator hose No. 2 and No. 3. After replacing the radiator assembly avoid using force when dealing with the cooler condenser assembly or piping then wire the cooling fan motor connector. The radiator reservoir tank hose needs reinstallation before using the correct torque settings to mount the radiator support sub-assembly upper and reinstalling the hood lock assembly based on theft deterrent system requirements. Proceed with installation of the No. 1 cooler cover together with radiator support absorber upper specific for hatchbacks and the air cleaner assembly while maintaining proper securement of all components. Reinstall the front bumper cover according to the model type after connecting the negative battery terminal with specified torque plus refilling engine coolant and adjusting the hood lock assembly and leak inspection.
