2007 Toyota Sequoia Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel tank on 2007 Toyota Sequoia?
A: A proper fuel tank maintenance process requires you to discharge system pressure along with removing the spare tire before starting work. The first step involves disconnecting the fuel pump connector before removing the fuel tank protector through removing its 2 bolts and 2 nuts. The service begins with disconnecting the fuel main tube then the return tube before addressing the fuel tank vent hose through connector insertion into the charcoal canister to unlock the tab then A pinching then connector extraction. The removal of fuel inlet and breather hoses begins with unscrewing the clamp bolt and freeing the fuel inlet hose from fuel filler pipe then detaching the breather tube. Installing a transmission jack below the fuel tank allows you to take out the tank after you unscrew its two bolts and let go of the two fuel tank bands. Once positioned by the transmission jack you can remove the fuel tank. Start by installing the fuel pump assembly then proceed to install the fuel tank assembly using the transmission jack to set and operate before securing it with 2 fuel tank bands and 2 bolts fastened to 62 N.m (632 kgf.cm, 45 ft.lbf). The fuel inlet hose must be connected to the filler pipe and then secured with a clamp followed by breather tube and fuel tank vent hose attachment to the charcoal canister. The installation process requires fuel tank main tube and return tube connection followed by fuel tank protector installation with two bolts and two nuts and a check for leaks before reinstallation of the spare tire.
