  A: Before commencing water pump services or repairs it is necessary to detach the negative battery cable for at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bag pre-tensioner and seat belt systems from activating. The technician must remove engine under cover Number 1 with the front fender apron positioned right and the radiator support opening cover as well as drain the coolant from the engine. The service begins by removing the front suspension member reinforcement RH, fan and generator V belt and generator assembly. To remove the four bolts from the water pump pulley employ Special Service Tool: 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-00700).
