2007 Toyota RAV4 Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install the rear Car Speakers assembly from the LH side on 2007 Toyota RAV4?
A: The LH side rear speaker assembly removal process starts with battery terminal cable disconnection followed by a 90+ seconds wait time to deactivate Air Bags and seat belt pretensioners. You should start by removing the door assist grip cover LH followed by taking out the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH as well as the rear door armrest base panel upper LH and finally the rear door trim board subassembly LH. First disconnect the connector from the rear No. 1 speaker assembly but securely drill out the 3 rivet heads with a drill that has a diameter smaller than 4 mm (0.16 in.) while keeping the drill aligned with the rivet to prevent damage during the removal process. Proceed with caution because the heat from cut rivets will be present yet continue drilling operations to remove remaining rivet fragments before cleaning them with a vacuum. Use an air riveter or hand riveter to install the rear No. 1 speaker assembly through 3 new rivets that should contact the speaker without creating any spaces between them. The speaker connection process ends with proper installation of the rear door trim board subassembly LH along with the rear door armrest base panel upper LH and the rear door inside handle bezel plug LH before placing the door assist grip cover LH and reconnecting the battery cable to the negative terminal.
