2006 Toyota RAV4 Car Speakers Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove and install the stereo Car Speakers on 2006 Toyota RAV4?
A: The first step to remove the stereo speaker requires disconnecting the negative battery cable followed by a 90-second wait before beginning work to stop both Air Bag systems and seat belt pretensioner methods from activating. Proceed to remove the back door center garnish together with back door side garnish LH and RH before taking off the back door trim board. Proceed with the removal of the rear stereo component speaker assembly by disconnecting its connector then drilling out the 3 rivet heads using a small drill bit sized 0.16 inches (0.4 mm) in diameter with care to maintain drill alignment from the rivet face and watch out for hot rivet fragments. Apply a vacuum cleaner throughout the door cavity to clear all remnants after drilling. Then remove the remaining rivet pieces. The installation requires an air riveter or hand riveter for attaching four new rivets to the speaker while maintaining complete speaker contact without any gap formation during the process of connector connection. To complete this repair procedure you must place back the back door trim board, back door side garnish RH, back door side garnish LH, back door center garnish, and reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal.
