- Q: How to service the front seat cushion assembly with the occupant classification ECU and sensor on 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser?A: Before starting front seat cushion assembly servicing involving the occupant classification ECU and sensor, turn off the ignition because disconnecting the SRS wiring connector might result in DTC recording. SRS parts must always be used as new and an occupant classification ECU must be discarded if an Air Bag deployment has occurred. Reading occupant classification ECU data should be performed first. Next step disconnect the negative battery terminal cable while maintaining a 90-second wait time to stop Air Bag activation. The service technician needs to remove the front seat headrest assembly combined with front seatback board subassembly while also unclipping the front seat cushion shield inner RH part of the front seat inner belt assembly RH and front seat cushion shield RH and seat track lower rail protector and front No. 1 seat cushion shield inner RH before finally removing the front seat cushion assembly, cover, heater and occupant classification sensor by disconnecting the sensor connector, removing the wiring harness clamp and the two clips. During installation technicians must replace the occupant classification ECU and occupant classification sensor together with the seat cushion cover pad, seat cushion cover, seat cushion heater while verifying the SRS wiring maintains appropriate distance from other installed parts. Apply two new clips to the occupant classification sensor before connecting it in sequence with the front seat cushion heater and the other components including front seat cushion assembly and front No. 1 seat cushion shield inner RH and both front seat inner belt assemblies. The installation process requires mounting the front seat headrest assembly followed by negative battery terminal cable connection and occupant classification ECU data input and zero point calibration with sensitivity testing before checking the SRS warning light.
