2007 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a radiator on 2007 Toyota Avalon?
A: The first step to radiator removal includes draining the engine coolant followed by taking out the battery and separating both air cleaner inlets No.1 and No.2. Disassemble the radiator reserve tank hose together with the radiator hose inlet and outlet and the oil cooler tubes No.1 from the radiator assembly. The radiator support upper removal begins by disconnecting the hood lock nut cap before proceeding with bolt removal to split the hood lock assembly from the radiator support upper and concluding with the complete removal of the 5 bolts found on the radiator support upper. First disconnect the fan motor connector while taking out the 4 bolts separating the condenser assembly from the radiator assembly before removing the radiator assembly from the vehicle body. Use bolt removal to take out the 2 radiator support cushions combined with removal of the 2 radiator support lowers then disconnect the 3 snap fits to free the fan assembly with motor from the radiator. When installing the fan assembly with motor onto the radiator start by inserting the guides into the bottom section and attaching the snap fits on the top surface. Fit the radiator assembly to the body while tightening 4 bolts to 5.4 N m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in. lbs.). Then install the 2 radiator support lowers and the 2 radiator support cushions to the radiator assembly. The installation process begins by connecting the fan motor cable and proceeding to install the radiator support upper with five bolts torqued at 7.0 N m then continuing with the hood lock assembly attached with three bolts torqued at 8.0 N m before completing the installation with the hood lock nut cap. The installation order for radiator components begins with inserting No.1 oil cooler outlet and inlet tubes to the assembly followed by the installation sequence of radiator hose outlet, radiator hose inlet, and radiator reserve tank hose. Reinstall Air cleaner inlets No.1 and No.2 after which the battery needs to be installed while fluid is added to the engine and the system needs to be checked for leaks.
