How to replace the thermostat on 2006 Toyota Matrix?

Before starting the thermostat replacement task begin by removing the engine under cover RH until draining the engine coolant. Begin the procedure by removing the fan and generator V belt followed by the generator assembly then the water inlet by removing its 2 nuts. New thermometers should receive the installed gasket before placement while maintaining the jiggle valve in an upward direction at a 10-degree angle relative to the specified orientation. Apply torque of 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.) to the water inlet before installing the generator assembly. Finally add the engine coolant to completion while conducting a check for any fluid loss.
