How to replace the Engine Control Module (ECM) on 2006 Toyota 4Runner?

The replacement process for Engine Control Module (ECM) begins by first removing instrument panel under cover sub-assy No. 2 and subsequently removing glove compartment door sub-assy before extracting instrument panel finish panel lower No. 2. Start by disconnecting the 5 ECM connectors from the ECM before removing 3 securing nuts and then using 2 screws to detach ECM bracket No. 1 along with the 2 screws for the ECM bracket No. 2 from the ECM. Secure the ECM bracket No. 2 first by tightening its two screws followed by installing the ECM bracket No. 1 with two screws and then fasten the ECM using three nuts while applying a torque of 13 N.m(133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf). Reinstall the ECM by plugging back its 5 connectors at their location.
