2005 Toyota Sequoia Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the radiator on 2005 Toyota Sequoia?
A: The removal process of the radiator starts by disconnecting the engine under cover followed by draining engine coolant from the system. The radiator requires hose detachment of the reservoir, upper unit, lower unit and A/T oil cooler units. The first step requires detaching the No.2 fan shroud by removing its 2 clips before removing the radiator assembly with 4 bolts. The next step requires you to remove the No.1 fan shroud through the removal of its 4 bolts. To install the No.1 fan shroud you should attach it with 4 bolts applying a torque of 5 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.). First attach the radiator bracket hooks to the radiator support holes before installing the four bolts which need a torques of 12 Nm (120 Nm, 9 ft. lbs.). The installation of the No.2 fan shroud requires attaching 2 clips before connecting the A/T oil cooler hoses along with the upper radiator hose and lower radiator hose and radiator reservoir hose to the radiator. Next is filling the system with coolant followed by engine start to check for leaks before final engine coolant re-check and complete installation of the engine cover.
