2005 Toyota Camry Thermostat Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the thermostat on 2005 Toyota Camry?
A: Engine coolant drainage is the first step before fan and generator V belt removal followed by the generator assembly extraction. You must detach the radiator hose inlet and extract the water inlet from the cylinder block by unscrewing its 2 nuts. The replacement process starts with installing a new thermostat and gasket in which the jiggle valve needs to face upwards inside a 10° range from the designated alignment. You should reinstall the water inlet by attaching its 2 nuts and torquing them to 9.0 Nm before reinstalling the radiator hose inlet along with the generator assembly and fan and generator V belt. The last step requires engine coolant addition followed by leak inspection.
