Protect your skin through wear of gloves and protective clothing followed by immediate skin washing when interacting with engine oil. Destroy used engine oil along with filters at official locations. Start by draining engine oil through the removal of the oil filler cap followed by the oil drain plug which leads to oil collecting in a container. Wipe down the drain plug and replace it with a fresh gasket then torque it to 38 Nm. Special Service Tool: 09228-06501 should be used during the process to remove the oil filter. To install the new oil filter you should clean the surface where it will go and apply engine oil to its gasket before screwing it lightly into its seat and using the same tool to secure it with a torque of 17.5 Nm (178 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs). The specified amount of fresh engine oil required for this service is 3.7 liters (3.9 US qts, 3.3 Imp. qts) for replacement including a new oil filter or 3.4 liters (3.6 US qts, 3.0 Imp. qts) without an oil filter change or 4.1 liters (4.3 US qts, 3.6 Imp. qts) for a dry fill operation and the oil filler cap must be installed last. Finally, inspect the engine oil.
