The procedure continues with removal of the flywheel sub-assembly while holding the crankshaft with the same tools. Afterward, the 6 bolts and flywheel become removable. To remove the oil seal begin by cutting off its lip with a cutter knife and gently prying it out with a screwdriver wrapped in tape while checking the crankshaft for damage followed by smoothing rough areas with 400-grit sandpaper when required. The installation of the replacement oil seal requires applying multipurpose grease No. 2 to its lip after clearing it from contaminants using Special Service Tool: 09223-56010 to tap the seal until it reaches the cylinder block edge with strict avoidance of angled tapping while removing all excess grease from the crankshaft.
