2004 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Switch Assembly on 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The Air Conditioning Control Assembly service requires starting with the removal of center resistors through disconnecting each connector and releasing its 12 clips. The integration control panel assembly becomes accessible after removing its 4 bolts together with the connectors. The procedure for models with navigation starts with disconnecting the clamp then taking out three screws and four bolts and removing the radio receiver bracket to the left. Next follow with two screws and the removal of the A/C amplifier. Owners with Lexus navigation system should remove the EMV by taking off all 3 screws and 2 bolts. The navigation system requires disconnecting clamps from connectors followed by screw and 2 bolt removal of the radio receiver bracket RH to extract the integration control panel from the radio receiver. The process for removal of the integration control panel on models without navigation system includes disconnecting the connector clamp followed by removing 2 screws and 4 bolts and the radio receiver bracket LH. The same sequence is then repeated to remove the bracket RH and the panel. Operation reverse follows the process of installation. An important operating procedure for models with navigation requires two IG ON and OFF sequences to display correctly when handling the EMV or disconnecting battery terminals.
