2004 Toyota Avalon Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the ignition coils on 2004 Toyota Avalon?
A: Start by removing the V-bank cover through a 5 mm hexagon wrench that allows for unmounting its 3 cap nuts and counterclockwise rotation of the V-bank cover fastener until the cover can be removed. After disconnecting the six ignition coil connectors users should remove the bolt then pull out each ignition coil until all six units are removed. Position the new ignition coil onto the spark plug before affixing it to the cylinder head cover while installing the bolt to 8 N.m torque setting (80 kgf.cm, 69 in.lbf). Then connect the 6 ignition coil connectors. The V-bank cover replacement requires a 5 mm hexagon wrench to screw the 3 cap nuts while pressing down this fastener.
