How to Replace the Drive Belt on 2003 Toyota Matrix?

The drive belt replacement process starts with disconnecting the engine wire harness before removing its bolt and wiring harness clamp bracket while also detaching the engine under cover RH. After detaching the 2 securing nuts on the suction hose sub-assy it becomes possible to disconnect it from the vehicle. Methodically replace the fan and generator V-belt by rotating the drive belt tensioner clockwise until the belt tension minimizes. Then take out the belt and reset the tensioner properly. Install the suction hose sub-assy to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 inch lbs.) followed by wire harness clamp installation to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft. lbs.).
