The proper procedure to service and repair the knock sensor involves draining the engine coolant followed by the removal of air cleaner hose alongside No.2 timing belt cover and intake air connector and fuel pressure regulator and intake manifold assembly. Follow this process by removing the water bypass pipe and knock sensor wire in succession after using Special Service Tool: 09817-16011 to uninstall the knock sensors. Reinstall the knock sensors through the use of the provided Special Service Tool until they reach 39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) of torque. After reinstallation of the water bypass pipe and knock sensor wire the technician should resume work on the intake manifold assembly, fuel pressure regulator and intake air connector, No.2 timing belt cover, and air cleaner hose. Before finishing the process, add engine coolant while monitoring the coolant level.
