The Knock Sensor service begins by removing these three components: throttle body cover then intake air connector and throttle body from the intake manifolds. Before beginning Knock Sensor investigation the technician should remove the upper and lower intake manifolds along with inspecting Knock Sensor 1,2 by disconnecting its connectors. The customer should use Special Service Tool: 09816-30010 to replace the sensor and should torque the sensor to 45 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lbf) before reconnecting the knock sensor connectors. The next step should include reinstalling the upper and lower intake manifolds assembly before installing the throttle body to the intake manifolds and the intake air connector and finally the throttle body cover.
