2001 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the A/C Switch on 2001 Toyota Tundra?
A: Start by detaching the center cluster integration panel through the removal of 3 heater control knobs and 5 screws before pulling the integration panel while separating its connector. The next sequence requires removal of the lower LH finish panel together with heater to register duct No.2 followed by glove compartment door and lower No.2 finish panel and heater to register duct No.4. Begin the tasks by disconnecting the heater control cables and finish installation by disconnecting the assembly connectors. To install the heater control assembly connect its connectors before inserting it into position while reinstalling the old components or installing new components instead. Adjust controller cables through "FACE" mode setting at the dial and maximum temperature choice at the dial. Adjust the mode control cable by first pulling the air inlet control link to "FACE" and connecting the control cable and locking the clamp while applying gentle tension to the outer cable in the specified direction. To perform air mix control cable adjustment plug the air inlet control link into "COOL" then connect the control cable before locking the clamp while providing a small outward push to the outer cable in the proper direction. Follow the same procedure for the water valve control cable by placing the air inlet control link at "COOL" and connecting the control cable followed by clamp locking while applying a light push to the designated outer cable direction. Complete the heater installation process by adding the heater to register duct No.4 followed by the lower No.2 finish panel and glove compartment panel then move to heater to register duct No.2 and lower LH finish panel before installing the center cluster integration panel by removing its cover then connecting two connectors and installing five screws with three heater control knobs.
