  A: Service and repair of fuel injectors begins by taking off the air cleaner hose with resonator and intake air connector followed by removing the four injector connectors. Moving on to removals requires disconnecting the vacuum sensing hose and fuel return hose from the fuel pressure regulator followed by union bolt disconnection with two gasket removal along the fuel inlet pipe from the delivery pipe. Place a fuel-caching container or shop rag beneath the delivery pipe throughout this process. The delivery pipe assembly requires unfastening of the union bolt before tooling out the 2 bolts and delivery pipe and 4 injectors with injector drops avoided. Secondly, remove the 4 insulators and 4 spacers after which you should extract the 4 injectors from the delivery pipe and eliminate their O-ring and grommet respectively. Each injector requires a new grommet before instillation with gasoline applied to the O-ring before assembly onto the injector.
