Service and repairs of the side Air Bag sensor assembly start by taking out the slide door scuff plate together with the front door scuff plate and center pillar lower garnish and the front seat outer belt retractor. The first step is to break the connector from the side Air Bag sensor assembly while keeping the assembly installed in place before removing the three nuts that secure the sensor assembly. Always install fresh SRS components during any procedure since sensors from collision-affected vehicles must be discarded and sensor maintenance is prohibited. Mount the three screws of the side Air Bag assembly following the torque specification of 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) before connecting the sensor assembly and securing its connector with the stated torque level.
