2000 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the front wheel speed sensor on 2000 Toyota Solara?
A: The service process for the front wheel speed sensor begins with disconnecting the speed sensor connector after removing the fender liner followed by connector removal. The front wheel speed sensor removal process starts with removing the bolt followed by taking off the flexible hose along with the speed sensor harness clamp mounted on the shock absorber before using a resin clip to disconnect the clamp bolt that attaches the sensor harness to the body while completing removal with the sensor from the steering knuckle. First securely attach the speed sensor onto the steering knuckle with 8.0 Nm torque (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) before fixing the sensor harness resin clip and clamp bolt to the body structure with 5.4 Nm torque (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.). The installation comes to an end when securing the shock absorber speed sensor harness clamp, flexible hose, and bolt using 29 Nm torque (300 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.). The speed sensor connector should be connected while reinstalling the fender liner until you perform a speed sensor signal check.
