2000 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair fuel injectors on 2000 Toyota Sienna?
A: The initial steps for servicing the fuel injectors begin by taking out three components: outer front cowl top panel assembly together with air cleaner cap and hose as well as air intake chamber assembly. Safely disconnect each injector connector and remove air assist tubings and pipe by separating the air assist pipe from its bracket on the first fuel pipe and removing hoses from the intake manifold. Caring for leaking fuel requires disconnecting the fuel inlet pipe from the filter after which you should position a container to collect any spills. The delivery pipes together with six injectors and fuel pipe can be extracted by dismantling five bolts before removing four spacers from the intake manifold. Remove six delivery pipe injectors before taking off their pair of O-rings together with pair of grommets for each injector. Begin by preparing each injector with fresh grommets and new insulators followed by application of spindle oil or gasoline thinly on both fresh O-rings which need to be installed onto each injector. Place spindle oil or gasoline on the delivery pipe area next to the injector O-ring then while rotating the injector move it into the delivery pipes for complete installation of all six components with their connectors facing outward. Install the four spacers onto the intake manifold while coating the injector O-ring areas with spindle oil or gasoline before placing delivery pipes with a fuel pipe containing six injectors on the intake manifold. Test install the delivery pipe and fuel pipe fasteners with O-rings first to verify injector rotation before exchanging rubber gaskets that affect smooth operation. The four delivery pipe bolts should be tightened to 10 Nm torque and the fuel pipe bolt requires 19.5 Nm torque. Apply two new gaskets to the fuel filter where the fuel inlet hose connects while securing the union bolt with 29 Nm (300 kg.cm, 22 ft.lb) torque. Fasten the end of the air assist hoses to their positions on the intake manifold followed by mounting the air assist pipe onto the bracket positioned near the No.1 fuel pipe. I will complete the procedure by attaching the injector connectors while installing the air intake chamber assembly followed by the air cleaner cap with hose and outer front cowl top panel assembly before verifying for fuel leaks.
