2000 Toyota Corolla Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2000 Toyota Corolla?
A: You should start the service and repair of fuel injectors by removing the No.2 cylinder head cover using a method of unfastening its 2 nuts and 2 clips. The next step requires fuel tube disconnection by removing the fuel pipe clamp followed by detaching the fuel tube connector from the fuel pipe with care for the pressure in the fuel line. Proceed with delivery pipe and injector removal through sequence of disconnecting four injector connectors before unscrewing three bolts to extract the delivery pipe with injectors and fuel pipe and then removing the two spacers from the cylinder head to pull out the four injectors from the delivery pipe while simultaneously removing injector O-rings and grommets from each component. Grommet application precedes the use of spindle oil or gasoline to lubricate each O-ring before placing them onto the injectors. Phase each delivery pipe O-ring area with spindle oil or gasoline before inserting the injectors by turning them while directing the connectors outside. The installation process begins by placing the 2 spacers on the cylinder head while applying spindle oil or gasoline lightly onto the O-ring contact points. The delivery pipe and fuel pipe with their installed 4 injectors should now be set on the cylinder head. Inspection of fluid delivery pipe and fuel pipe installation should be conducted after securing the delivery pipe bolts and the fuel pipe bolt; observe smooth injector rotation before replacing the O-ring. The delivery pipe bolts should be tightened to 18.5 Nm (189 kg.cm, 14 ft.lb) while the fuel pipe bolt needs to be tightened to 9 Nm (92 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb). Yine, the fuel tube needs attachment through connector joining to the fuel pipe followed by proper precautions from Dirction and clamps securing along with No.2 cylinder head replacement with two nuts and two clips.
