Handle the back door stay carefully with caution to the exposed piston rod because the gas material is both odorless and colorless and non-toxic. Avoid damaging the rod through scratching or scoring and block all paint and oil from reaching the rod. Keep the back door stay from having its complete extension during any piston rod and cylinder turning motion. The installation procedure requires attaching the body first using bolts at a torque setting of 17 N.m (170 kgf.cm, 12 ft.lbf) then the door back end with the same bolt torques.
