The heater core repair process starts with cooling unit removal and draining the engine coolant from the radiator while only draining part of the coolant. Your first step must be disconnecting the water hoses connected to the heater radiator pipes through the use of pliers which will allow you to maneuver the hose clip claw along the hose before removing it from the pipes. The instrument panel and reinforcement should be removed first followed by the rear heater ducts during this process. You must slide the floor carpet backward to detach each duct. The heater unit removal begins with disconnecting the wire harness clamp followed by nut removal from three points. Start by installing the heater unit with its 3 nuts then restoring the wire harness clamp. Install the rear heater ducts first, then connect water hoses to the heater radiator by placing the hose onto the pipe until reaching the second ridge before applying the hose clip correctly. Engine coolant needs to be filled before reattaching the cooling unit.

The procedure for servicing and repairing a heater core starts by first removing the air duct through unscrewing and using a taped screwdriver to open its five claws for extraction. The next step involves cover removal through the release of 2 claws using a screwdriver which should have its tip taped for protection. Remove the heater radiator by unscrewing the clamp and screw followed by pulling it out. The heater radiator installation should start with screw and clamp application before adding the cover and finishing with screw installation for the air duct.
