Throttle Body

Draining coolant should be the first step when servicing the throttle body assembly parts. You must first remove the air cleaner cap together with the air cleaner hose before disconnecting the accelerator control cable assembly. The next step requires disconnecting two components of the throttle body assembly beginning with the throttle position sensor connector then ISC valve connector followed by detachment of the vacuum hose and two water bypass hoses. The throttle body mounts to the intake manifold through three bolts which must be unfastened before removing the existing gasket. Undertake the removal of the throttle position sensor after unscrewing its two retaining screws. Untwist the three screws holding the idle speed control valve assembly then proceed to remove it. The reassembly process starts with installing the idle speed control valve using a new gasket and demands full throttle valve closure before placing the throttle position sensor. To install the sensor properly align it first with the closed throttle valve position by rotating it left 450 degrees then use the left-right insertion and screw it with two fasteners. You should install a new gasket to the intake manifold before using three bolts to attach the throttle body at 30 N.m torque (306 kgf.cm or 22 ft.lbf). Attach the three components including water bypass hoses together with ISC valve connector and vacuum hose to the throttle body. Draining the coolant for a second time allows you to check for leaks in the engine cooling system.

Unscrew the two screws to remove the throttle position sensor.

Remove the vacuum hose and two water bypass hoses.
