Wiper Switch

One should disconnect the negative battery cable before waiting at least 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag deployment before starting the extraction process of the wiper switch. Front wheels need to be aligned in a straight direction. The first step is to remove the steering pad and after that you proceed with the steering wheel assembly removal followed by taking away the steering column cover. You must disconnect the two connectors from the wiper switch before using a screwdriver with tape-wrapped tip to slowly disengage the claw that will remove the wiper switch while maintaining caution to prevent damaging the component.

Begin by taking off the steering column lower cover and shifting to the steering column upper cover. Remove the two connectors from the wiper switch unit. Use a taped screwdriver tip to turn the claw free and gently take out the wiper switch by adjusting force to avoid hurting the mechanism.

First, remove the steering column lower cover and then the steering column upper cover.

Install the steering column upper cover.

Install the steering column lower cover.

Install the steering wheel assembly.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds to prevent the airbag from deploying.

Use a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape to carefully disengage the claw, taking care not to press it too hard to avoid damage.

Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal, ensuring a torque of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) is applied.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and carefully remove the wiper switch, taking care not to press the claw too hard to avoid damage.

Remove the steering column cover.

Connect the 2 connectors.

Connect the 2 connectors.
