The process of servicing the headlamp dimmer switch starts with disconnecting the battery cable and waiting for at least ninety seconds to avoid activating Air Bags and seat belt pretensioners. The servicing process begins with removing the steering wheel assembly and continuing with the sequential removal of the headlight dimmer switch assembly, wiper and washer switch assembly, steering angle sensor, tilt and telescopic switch, switch body, spiral cable sub-assembly, and finally extracting the cancel cam through turning and pressing actions and pull-out motion. After connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal you must initialize followed by system initialization when systems need this procedure after cable install and uninstall.
