Shock Absorber, Rear Passenger Side

Start by installing cushion No. 1, cushion No. 3 with the shock absorber using a new nut followed by the 3 cushion retainers. Begin shock absorber installation using the bolt and washer and nut which requires complete nut torquing to 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). Connect the rear wheel properly with a torque force of 113 Nm which equates to 1,152 kgf-cm and 83 ft-lbf. The suspension stabilization process begins when the vehicle passes under a lift. The driver should execute several gentle vehicle bounces that restore suspension equilibrium. Complete the tightening process of the rear shock absorber nut until you reach a torque of 100 Nm (1,020 kgf-cm, 74 ft-lbf).

Install the front coil spring using the special service tool to compress it, ensuring the lower end fits into the gap of the spring lower seat, then install the front shock absorber cushion retainer, front coil spring insulator upper, front suspension support sub-assembly, front shock absorber cushion No. 1, and front shock absorber cushion retainer.

Install the coil spring onto the body with the lower end facing the outer side of the vehicle.

Release the coil spring while checking the position of the suspension support.

Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment.

Tighten the rear wheel to a torque of 113 Nm (1,152 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.).

Fully extend the shock absorber rod and drill a hole in the shaded area of the cylinder to discharge the gas inside, avoiding metal shards.
