Service and repair the suspension strut using Special Service Tool 09727-00060, 09727-30021 to remove the suspension support and coil spring by compressing the coil until both ends are clear while using tool arms that accommodate an 8-roll coil and following Instructions for compression amount and avoiding impact wrench use. You should start by taking off the suspension support center nut followed by the two retainers, cushion, suspension support, and coil spring. Check the shock absorber operation by pressing and releasing its rod to detect any strange noises or limiting movements; if abnormal findings appear change to an entirely new shock absorber. Drill a hole through the cylinder but ensure to protect against chip particles while removing gas from the shock absorber rod that you should have fully extended. When replacing the bushing use Special Service Tools: 09506-35010, 09632-36010 and a press to extract it before installing a new one omitting all lubrication. Use Special Service Tool: 09727-00060, 09727-30021 to compress the coil spring before installing it onto the shock absorber with the lower end placed into the spring seat gap. Then assemble the two retainers, suspension support, and cushion to the rod while temporarily tightening the new suspension support center nut. After positioning the suspension support to the shock absorber lower bushing you must verify that the coil spring end points towards vehicle exterior. Finally remove the Special Service Tool for testing alignment followed by suspension center nut torquing to 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft. lbs.).

The service process for the front shock absorber begins with front wheel removal after torqueing it to 110 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.). The shock absorber detachment from the suspension arm happens by removing the lower nut and washer under 135 Nm (1,400 kgf-cm, 101 ft. lbs.) after stabilizing the suspension. The bolt requires removing from the lower suspension arm in order to disconnect the shock absorber. Following the removal of the 3 nuts, use 64 Nm (650 kgf-cm) torque while uninstalling the shock absorber with coil spring. The procedure for installing the components reverse the steps used for removal.

Compress the coil spring again using the same special service tools, install the coil spring onto the shock absorber, ensuring the lower end fits into the spring seat gap.

Drill a hole 2 - 3 mm (0.079 - 0.118 inch) in diameter at the specified location to release the gas before discarding it, taking care to avoid flying chips.

Use Special Service Tool: 09727-00060, 09727-30021 to compress the coil spring until there is clearance on both ends.
