Yaw Rate Sensor

The process of removing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor starts with shifting out the shift lever knob sub-assembly of both automatic and manual transaxles before moving onto the removal of No. 1 and No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnishes. The next step requires the removal of the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly when using automatic transaxles and the separate removal of the upper console panel for manual transaxles and the upper rear console panel sub-assembly that functions with both transaxle types. Detach the yaw rate sensor connector followed by a simple bolt removal of the two yaw rate sensor fasteners while keeping the sensor bracket intact. During replacement of BOSCH made sensors the device requires two nuts for proper bracket detachment from its mounting position. Install the yaw rate and acceleration sensor to its bracket by using 2 nuts which need 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) torque or by employing standard bolts torqued to 13 N.m (133 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf). Check that the sensor remains undamaged and completely secured before reconnecting the sensor connector. Reinstall the upper rear console panel sub-assemblies together with both transaxle types and upper console panel for manuals while also including the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly and instrument cluster finish panel garnishes in their respective order. The last step involves installing the shift lever knob sub-assemblies following which you must perform yaw rate sensor zero point calibration and conduct sensor signal inspections.

First, attach the sensor to the bracket using 2 nuts, ensuring a torque of 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf).

Remove the front door scuff plates (both LH and RH) and the cowl side trim sub-assemblies (both LH and RH).

Ensure the sensor is not damaged and is installed securely before reconnecting the sensor connector.

Install the No. 1 console box duct, console box assembly, console box carpet, console box pocket, upper rear console panel sub-assembly (for both automatic and manual transaxles), upper console panel (for manual transaxle), floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly, No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish, No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish, and shift lever knob sub-assembly (for both manual and automatic transaxles).
