The first step to work on the Air Bag Control Module consists of removing four components: shifting lever knob, shifting hole cover, upper console panel and rear console box and front console box. Continue by disconnecting the connectors from the Air Bag sensor assembly while the assembly stays mounted. After that remove its four mounting bolts. You must replace the SRS parts with new ones during installation procedures because you cannot use an Air Bag sensor assembly if it took part in a crash or deployed. The four bolts must be tightened to 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) when installing the Air Bag sensor assembly. After assembly installation, connect the Air Bag sensor connectors. Check the sensor assembly torque level while inspecting it for defects like cracks or dents; any evidence of damage requires replacement of the assembly. The SRS wiring needs to be positioned in a way that ensures it avoids different components and checks for loose connections by exerting shaking movements on the sensor assembly. After finishing mount the front console box assembly, rear console box assembly, upper console panel and shifting hole cover and shifting lever knob for 4WD models.
