Front Impact Sensor, Passenger Side

The battery negative terminal needs disconnecting before performing the removal of front LH seat assembly and front seat cushion shield LH. Break the sensor protector from the seat slide position sensor before disconnecting its connector to the seat position Air Bag sensor. A T30 torx socket wrench enables the removal of the seat position Air Bag sensor along with its torx screw. Install the new sensor only after turning off the power switch and waiting for 90 seconds with the negative battery terminal disconnected. To properly mount the seat position Air Bag sensor users should insert a 1 mm (0.039 in.) feeler gauge to keep the sensor at 0.6 mm (0.023 in.) to 2 mm (0.079 in.) distance from the seat rail. Use a torx screwdriver to secure the screw at 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) and check the installation parts for proper tightness. Following correct reconnect of the Air Bag sensor connector the front seat assembly installation completes with a terminal battery reconnection. System initialization will follow connection of the terminal and you must refer to relevant tables to perform the initialization process while checking the SRS warning light. The seat position Air Bag sensor needs replacement with a fresh unit whenever it receives an impact drop or displays signs of physical damage during any installation and repair process. The SRS wiring must maintain clear pathways away from other components while installation to prevent any pinching.

Check for any looseness in the sensor's mounting, reconnect the sensor's connector, reinstall the front seat outer belt assy, and reconnect the battery negative terminal.

Inspect the SRS warning light.

Replace it if it has been dropped or shows any cracks, dents, or defects.

Disconnect the sensor connector and remove the 2 bolts.

Check the SRS warning light.

Replace it with a new one.
