    Q:
How to remove and install the Air Bag sensor assembly on Toyota MR2 Spyder? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to remove the Air Bag sensor assembly involves removing the floor carpet before disconnecting the connectors and their wire clamp keeping the assembly in position. Remove the 3 screws that fasten the Air Bag sensor assembly with a Torx wrench which you can find as Part No. 09042-00020 or as a locally manufactured equivalent tool. When installing the Air Bag sensor assembly it is imperative to use new SRS parts from new sources while completely avoiding reinstallation of Air Bag sensor assemblies that have deployed during accidents. Use a Torx wrench and install the three screws onto the Air Bag sensor assembly before applying a torque force of 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). After linking the Air Bag sensor connectors and wire clamp, put back the floor carpet. The connector must be installed following sensor assembly installation while verification of proper torque occurs on the sensor assembly and replacement happens if the sensor assembly experienced manual drop or exhibits deformities. You should inspect SRS wiring to make sure it avoids interference with other parts and validates that it is not pinched after the installation task. Additionally, perform a shake test of the sensor assembly to check for any looseness.
