The first step in generator assembly replacement is disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Begin generator assembly replacement by first removing the fan and generator V belt afterward proceeding to take out the generator assembly by stripping away the terminal cap followed by unfastening the generator wire with its attached nut and disconnecting the generator connector and removing the two bolts securing the generator. Place the generator first before torquing bolt pair to 43 N.m (438 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) and connect the generator connector after putting the generator wire onto the nut which requires a torque of 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf) until finally installing the terminal cap. The next steps involve reinstalling both the fan and generator V belt followed by cable connection to the negative terminal while applying a 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) torque to it.

Install the generator assembly with the 2 bolts, ensuring a torque of 43 N.m (438 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf).

Disconnect the generator connector.

Inspect for roughness and measure the diameter, replacing the rotor assembly if the diameter is below 14.0 mm.

Install the fan and generator V belt.

Remove the plate retainer and carefully take out the generator rotor assembly from the drive end frame, ensuring not to drop it.
