Radiator Assembly

The radiator service process begins with an inspection of coolant and A/T fluid leaks when the engine starts and A/T fluid inspection. Service must start by taking out battery components along with battery tray before moving on to the engine under cover. The service begins with draining coolant before disconnecting the No.3 engine room relay block, No.1 cooling fan connector and wire clamps at the No.1 fan shroud. The service requires removal of the No.2 cooling fan connector and the No.1 ECT switch wire connector and their corresponding wire clamps from the No.2 fan shroud. The radiator service requires disconnecting upper and lower radiator hoses together with A/T oil cooler hoses from the radiator. The radiator and cooling fans assembly can be removed by unfastening the 2 bolts followed by the 2 upper supports while applying torque to 12.8 Nm (1130 kgf-cm or 9 ft. lbs.). Finally, lift out the assembly and remove the 2 lower supports. Disconnect both the No.1 ECT switch and the No.1 cooling fan from the radiator by removing their 2 bolts then tightening them to 5.0 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 44 inch lbs.) and repeat the process for the No.2 cooling fan. The installation process for the system requires the opposite sequence of disassembly steps.

Install the cushion.

Disconnect the No.3 engine room relay block, No.1 cooling fan connector, wire clamps from the No.1 fan shroud, No.2 cooling fan connector, No.1 ECT switch wire connector, and wire clamps from the No.2 fan shroud.

Take care not to deform the fins of the radiator core by maintaining a distance between the cleaner nozzle and the radiator core.

Press the tool against it, ensuring not to stake areas around pipes or brackets, and check the lock plate height, which should be between 7.4 - 7.8 mm (0.2959 - 0.3119 inch).

Inspect the lock plate for damage, correct any deformation, and ensure proper reassembly.
