Radiator Assembly

The radiator inspection begins with rinsing contaminants from the radiator cap sub-assembly through water application. Engine coolant or water must be used to wet the two valves on the radiator cap before testing with the tester where the angle must exceed 30 degrees above horizontal position. Use the tester for controlled air pressure checks from the vacuum valve while keeping the pump at a rate of 1 push every 3 seconds, then replace the reservoir cap if no air escapes. Measure the relief valve opening pressure when pumping at a speed of 1 push within 1 second but reduce the speed after the first pump. Radiator caps must feature opening pressures between 93 to 122 kPa (0.95 to 1.25 kgf/cm2, 13.4 to 17.6 psi) and minimum 78 kPa (0.8 kgf/cm2, 11.4 psi). Any caps with maximum readings under minimum limits need replacement. Carise the radiator assembly to check for blocked fins while also verifying proper cleanliness of the radiator and condenser as well as the hose connections. Used fins require cleaning with either water or steam equipment while staying distanced for safety purposes before compression-air drying. Use a screwdriver or pliers to fix any fin bendage before excluding water contact from electronic elements.

Disconnect the radiator reservoir tank hose, the radiator hose inlet, the radiator hose outlet, and the oil cooler outlet hoses No.2 and No.3.
