Hang up the reassembly of the rear propeller shaft assembly by mounting the spider kit of the rear propeller shaft universal joint first. Add lubricant from an MP grease container onto a fresh spider and its bearings preceding spider placement within the yoke flange. The installation of spider bearings onto the spider requires Special Service Tool: 09332-25010 to achieve maximum bearing widths that are equal in dimension. Install four brand-new snap rings with equal dimensions which remove all axial play and follow this step by avoiding the use of recycled snap rings. The fix should include fresh snap rings that demonstrate as similar thicknesses as possible between the snap ring ends. The hammer application should create a specific alignment between the snap ring and spider bearing outer race without clearance. Match the marks between the flange yoke and sleeve yoke during this process. The process for installing and adjusting spider bearings and snap rings needs to be duplicated following the procedure outlined earlier. The universal joint spider bearing must be checked for smooth movement after reassembly and the maximum allowable bearing axial play is 0 mm (0 in.) when turning the yoke with the shaft kept tightly in place. The fresh spider bearing needs installation in line with the fitting hole orientation shown in the diagram.

Apply MP grease to a new spider and spider bearings, fit the spider into the flange yoke, and use Special Service Tool: 09332-25010 to install the spider bearings, adjusting them so the snap ring grooves are maximum and equal in width.

First, remove the Special Service Tool from the extension housing.

Secure the assembly using 4 bolts, 4 nuts, and 4 washers, tightening to a torque of 88 Nm (899 kgf-cm, 65 ft-lbf).
